
Kokrajhar: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) organized a protest dharna at Bodofa Children Park in Kokrajhar against the brutal murder of Hiranmoy Khakhlary and the horrific gang rape incident in Dudhnoi. The protest saw a significant turnout, reflecting widespread outrage and demand for justice.
The ABSU has made a strong call for the highest punishment for the accused. They are demanding that Dhan Ali Talukdar, Bahar Ali, Rahman Ali, Shekbar Ali, and Permina Begum, the accused in these heinous crimes, be sentenced to death.
ABSU has emphasized the need for swift justice through a Fast Track Court to ensure that the victims' families receive the justice they deserve.
In addition to the demand for strict punishment, the ABSU is calling for financial compensation for the victims' families. They are demanding Rs. 20 lakhs for the family of the late Hiranmoy Khakhlary and Rs. 5 lakhs for each of the rape victims.
The protest highlighted the urgent need for addressing violence and ensuring safety and justice for all. The ABSU's demonstration at Bodofa Children Park is a powerful reminder of the community's resilience and commitment to justice.
